Aberdeen Transient Arrested Trying to Pass Counterfeit Bills

ABERDEEN, Wash. – Investigators are seeing similarities between recent counterfeit money and an Aberdeen transient arrested Saturday evening for trying to pass counterfeit 5 and 10 dollar bills at the Grocery Outlet. Aberdeen Police Captain John Green tells us the man matches the description given in at least two other cases on the Harbor.
Last month two $20 bills surfaced with the same serial numbers, Green tells us on March 16th and March 18th his department received reports from two local restaurants that they had received counterfeit currency. Both had the same serial number of JB03508316E.
Green said Local area citizens and business should continue to check all currency they receive to ensure it is genuine and not counterfeit. The Secret Service provides currency security information on their website at, www.secretservice.gov
