3 Year Old Shoots Self at Tacoma Gas Station

TACOMA, Wash. – A 3 year old boy was killed this morning in what officers say looks like an accidental, self-inflicted gun shot at a Tacoma gas station. Tacoma Police Spokesman Naveed Benjamin tells us just after midnight tonight the Oregon couple pulled into a gas station at South 56th and Tacoma Boulevard. While the girlfriend went in to pay, the driver concealed a handgun under his seat before getting out to pump. Naveed said that’s when the 3 year old boy got out of his child seat, climbed forward and found the handgun, discharging one round and fatally wounding himself. The boy died at a nearby hospital, Benjamin said the case is being investigated as an accidental shooting.
