Alleged DUI Driver Strikes Patrol Car

SHELTON, Wash. – A Washington State Patrol car was struck by a DUI driver over the weekend, while the car’s Trooper was in the process of arresting another driver for DUI. Trooper Russel Winger tells us an officer was outside arresting one subject just after 11 Saturday night for Driving Under the Influence when another vehicle struck his patrol car, pulled over, then drove away from the scene on Highway 101. Winger said responding officers located the vehicle a short time later on Frontage road, where the driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Winger said no one was injured.
