Hoquiam Teacher Due in Court Today

HOQUIAM, Wash. – A 41 year old Hoquiam High School teacher will be in District court this afternoon in connection with text messages allegedly sent to two 12 year old girls.
Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Myers tells us the suspect was arrested yesterday morning for investigation of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, a felony in Washington state. Myers said he was booked in Grays County jail yesterday morning.
Deputy Prosecutor Gerald Fuller tells us this morning, he expects the defendant will be in district court later today, the Grays Harbor County Prosecutor’s Office is preparing a criminal complaint.
Hoquiam School Superintendent Mike Parker tells us “the teacher has been placed on administrative leave with pay, and the District is acting in cooperation with the Police Department on this investigation.”
