MONTESANO, Wash. – City Officials today will hold the Grand Reopening of Montesano’s Bryan Parkway at the city’s East entrance. The park was built in honor of Civil War vet and Montesano Mayor T.M. Bryan. In 2006, 45 poplar trees were removed due to damage, Montesano Mayor Ron Schillinger led an adopt-a-tree drive that resulted in over $20,000 in donations, some of which purchased 30 October Glory Maples now seen in the Parkway along Pioneer Avenue. A short ceremony will be held today from 2 to 3 to unveil a plaque honoring the donors who made the rehabilitation possible.
