Garbage Rates on The Rise

ABERDEEN, Wash. – City of Aberdeen will likely raise garbage rates next year, it’s part of a schedule set by Lemay Enterprises, City Councilman Tim Alstrom said at this week’s council meeting if the citizens don’t pay, the city will “the last time there was a rate increase on garbage was 2009, there could have been one last year there wasn’t. If we don’t pass this report, we’re still going to pay the money but it’s going to come out of General Fund and not from the rate set.” The increase follows suit with the County raising rates. Council adopted the report recommending a draft of the increase.
