Westport Observatory Completion Nears

WESTPORT, Wash. – Concrete, and Over-Engineering have slowed completion of the Observation tower in Westport. Contract Administrator Mike Johnson explained “they tried a new mix design, it’s 5,000 PSI concrete and was only coming in at about 4,200 [or] 4,300.”
The psi rating of concrete represents it’s strength, Johnson said the structure is sound and only requires 3,000 psi, the architect requested 5,000 due to the volatile weather and surf near the observation tower, which is scheduled for completion between now and the last part of November.
