Largest Merger of State Agencies in 20 Years

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Opening today with new names, Washington’s Consolidated Technology Services, and Department of Enterprise Services agencies are merged versions of previous. The largest merger of state agencies in 20 years was made official October first as five state agencies merged into 3 with the Office of Financial Management opening soon as well. A merger proposed by Washington Governor Christine Gregoire in the 2011 legislative session took effect October 1, the state will shutter the departments of General Administration, Personnel and Information Services, and the State Printer.
