Impersonating an Officer in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, Wash. – Impersonating an officer in South Aberdeen Tuesday night. a 27 year old Aberdeen woman said just after 9PM she was merging onto Boone street when a small white car behind her activated what didn’t quite appear to be police lights. The woman was suspicious of the car as she pulled into a parking lot near Marion street. 911 Dispatch confirmed that no law enforcement agency was attempted to pull over the woman. As the vehicle passed the woman, she reported seeing two Hispanic looking people. No suspects were located.
Aberdeen Police tell us if a person believes they are not being pulled over by an officer they should wave to signal they see them, then continue to the nearest public location where other people are located, and contact 911. If the driver does not have a cell phone they should secure their vehicle and wait for the officer to identify himself.
