Aberdeen Schools To Focus on STEM

ABERDEEN, Wash. – As Science and Engineering jobs grow at a much faster pace than many others in the US, Aberdeen Schools are looking to adopt a new goal “All elementary [schools] in Aberdeen are looking at incorporating STEM as a way of teaching Science Technology Engineering and Math in the schools.” Aberdeen School Superintendent Tom Opstad tells us “STEM is really looking at how we utilize technology in learning, but also how do we incorporate more science and math at the elementary level in our current curriculum.”

The Association of Washington State Principles met this summer to discuss, among other things, why STEM is so important.
