HOQUIAM, Wash. – a Hoquiam traffic stop yields drugs, scales, and “old money” Saturday morning. Detective Seargent Khron tells us around 2 o’clock an officer was citing a 28 year old Cosmopolis man for driving with a suspended license in the 800 block of Eklund Ave Hoquiam. The man’s passengers seemed very upset about not being able to retrieve something from the trunk of the impounded vehicle. When a K9 unit alerted officers, Krohn said a safe in the trunk was found to contain various amounts of suspected heroin, methamphetamine, marijuana, and miscellaneous pills, a laptop PC, and an undisclosed amount of coins and silver certificates. The four passengers in the vehicle were interviewed and released pending further charges.
