Texting While Driving Incident in Hoquiam

HOQUIAM, Wash. – Texting while driving ended in car and house damage in Hoquiam last night. Hoquiam police arrested two for disorderly conduct when an altercation broke out following the incident. Investigators determined a 23 year old Montesano man was texting while driving his 1995 Toyota 4-Runner, drifted to the right and struck a parked 2007 Toyota Yaris. then continued on through two yards and struck an occupied home. The father of the Yaris owner then started a fight with the Montesano man. Hoquiam Police Chief Jeff Meyers said it could have been worse, the driver of the Yaris was at her parents house to retrieve her children and minutes later could have been loading them into her car when it was struck.
