CHehalis Cooperative Meeting Today

MONTESANO, Wash. – The first meeting of the controversial Chehalis Cooperative will be taking place today at 1:30, one day before the Flood authority meets, County Commissioner, Terry Willis said “This will be the first meeting of the cooperative, that’s between the Grays Harbor County, Thurston County, and the Chehalis Tribe.”
Willis said the group will meet in the Tribal Community Center to elect officers. The former Chair of the Flood Authority says she plans to take part in both groups, and felt that the smaller Cooperative may be more flexible to get projects done quicker. Willis was voted out as chair of the Flood Authority last month after angst from fellow members surrounding a secretive formation of the Chehalis Cooperative.
