Two Horses Found Dead – Claims of Neglect Unfounded


On Tuesday, the Mason County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report that two horses had been shot while in their own pasture just west of Shelton.  There were also claims of animal neglect and that the horses actually died of animal neglect and malnutrition.


An investigation revealed that both of the dead horses appeared to have been in good condition prior to their death and there were no signs of neglect or malnutrition.  Two live horses were also found on the property and they appeared to be well fed and cared for.
